Job Purpose

Technician, Mechanical (FSO) maintains the mechanical equipment of FSO. The jobholder carries out watch duties in the engine control room when offloading operation

Key Accountabilities (1)

  • Monitor the FSO mechanical equipment performance and complete log sheets.
  • Supervise ER Ratings to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul of all engine room equipment/ machines.
  • Supervise the engine room work activities which carry out by contractor.
  • Troubleshoot faults and carry out repairs by using available tools and control equipment, drawings, diagrams, and vendors manuals.
  • Execute mechanical preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment including rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, static equipment and other systems as per schedule and job cards, and in accordance with Supervisor, Maintenance (FSO)’s instructions.
  • Report on spare part and consumable requirement and suggest improvement for the schedule and the frequency of preventive maintenance.
  • Complete mechanical maintenance logbook, work order summary reports, daily time sheets and submit to Supervisor, Maintenance (FSO).
  • Draft work requests and requisitions concerning maintenance and supply of consumables and submit to Chief Engineer for approval including update on spare part inventory.
  • Organize, prioritize, and schedule overall projects and specific work activities of all ER Rating and contractors.
  • Control, monitor and supervise all maintenance budgeting and expenses relating to all activities, including manpower estimation for routine and non-routine activities within establishing guidelines and according to company procedures
  • Ensure continuous improvement in all areas of operations related knowledge and supervisory skills, application of the highest standard of operational safety, and utilization of the most efficient work procedures, contributes ideas to improve overall operational efficiency and safety system.

Key Accountabilities (2)

Emergency Response Tasks:

  • Be a member of firefighting team, oil spill clean-up team and lifeboat evacuation team.
  • Be a rescue team member when perform rescue in confine space in engine room area

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • Technical Diploma in Mechanical or related fields
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Mechanical Technician, Crane Mechanical Technician
  • Fair command of bot written and spoken English
