Superintendent, Workshop

Job Purpose

Superintendent, Offshore Workshop is responsible for planning, supervising and controlling workshop operations at Songkhla Support Base i.e. managing drilling and completion workshop (subassembly and equipment supply, all related OCTG, etc.), well services workshop (wireline), wellhead/running tools and accessories maintenance and preparation work scope. The jobholder ensures that technical and economic justifications are always applied to all areas of activities and to fulfil department’s business objectives. The jobholder also supports field operations as necessary and ensures that the operations are carried out according to PTTEP’s regulations, guidelines, instructions and procedures.

Key Accountabilities
  • Update/prepare procedures for all new equipment introduced into well operations and propose changes to existing procedures as and when needed.
  • Coordinate, manage and control workshop operations ensuring all planned and any unplanned activities are carried out in safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide technical support/advices to Drilling Engineer, Completion Engineer and Intervention Engineer regarding equipment, tools, operational limitation, operational concerns and planning etc.
  • Take overall responsibility for conditions of all equipment used in each operation within designed specifications and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly prepared and tested under pressure control principles and procedure.
  • Coordinate the overlap with concerned parties to carry out the tasks as proposed.
  • Plan, develop and recommend strategies, work plan for new technology, procedures and methodology to improve technical/cost performance and manpower.
  • Monitor and control all areas of well activities to ensure that technical and operational aspects of work are carried out efficiently and safely according to department’s work program, within budget and on schedule.
  • Plan, control and ensure the optimization of technical integrity & maintenance of all assets’ wells and ensure that SSHE matters are in compliance with PTTEP’s SSHE Management System.
  • Manage all available resources and workforce appropriately to ensure that objectives are achieved and staff is fully utilized.
  • Lead/motivate team or task forces, build a learning team, and plan training & coaching to develop competencies of subordinates.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Process/Petroleum/Mechanical or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 15-year experience in drilling and well servicing operations with strong background in drilling, wireline, electric line, completion, coiled tubing, nitrogen lift, well testing and workover
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of safety and contracts management
  • Managerial and supervisory skill
