Job Purpose

Operator, Remote Operation and Maintenance carries out routine and specific tasks related to monitoring operations and executing front-line maintenance on various wellhead platforms to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The jobholder is also responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with SSHE regulations, standards, and procedures.

Key Accountabilities (1)

  • Monitor plant operations on site which includes adjusting local set points and gauges to accommodate fluctuations in operations, report to Supervisor any abnormalities and discrepancies or defects on equipment, instruments or any anomalies such defective and/or corroded piping, structure or equipment for further rectification.
  • Open and shut various valves manually. Start and stop pumps and rotating equipment in accordance with set procedures and Supervisor's instructions.
  • Perform normal routine and specific work i.e., pigging operation, well testing, Well testing, Well Blowdown, Casing Bleed down, ESD testing, etc. on the remote platform, troubleshoot, start up and shut down according to Panel Operators and/ or Supervisor's instructions including following sequential procedure of opening/ closing valves and associated equipment.
  • Operate Wellhead Platform such as opening, shutting, and testing wells, etc. via HMI on Automated and Semi-Automated remote wellhead platforms, and Conventional Wellhead platform.

Key Accountabilities (2)

  • Carry out plant housekeeping and minor frontline maintenance as required e.g., greasing, cleaning, and fixing or replacing minor parts on plant and equipment which knowledge and competence to perform
  • Control work permit and activities on remote platform on behalf of Production Supervisor including other specific jobs such as hook-up commissioning, well operation, and construction work, etc.
  • Carry out routine checks of plant operating conditions in accordance with set schedules including taking samples, recording, reading, checking running conditions of various equipment, etc.
  • Regularly perform ESD testing and ensure, when working on remote platform, that safety shut-down system is in good working order according to schedules.
  • Assist to perform specific work i.e., intelligent pigging operation, filter change over, process field trail test
  • Perform other similar or related duties such as ensuring an adequate supply of consumable on site, observing all SSHE rules and regulations, maintaining basic files and records, etc.

Key Accountabilities (3)

  • Refill chemical tanks as required and monitor the injections at specified rates
  • Ability to perform booster compressor and booster Comp Gas Lift Compressor stop/ start/ running operation is preferable
  • Perform front-line maintenance as instructed by Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot the following equipment: automatic and Semi-automate wellhead platform, conventional platform, automatic control valves, auto choke valve, hydraulic control panel, hydraulic pumps, diaphragm pumps, centrifugal, reciprocating pumps, TEG, diesel small engine, Gas/Diesel Generator, Multi-Phase Pump, (MPP), Waterflood Pump, Troubleshoot CP-100, perform pipeline batch treatment (pigging operation), operate and start-up W/H Booster compressor, Booster Comp with Gas Lift, Gas lift system. Cooperate with other crews such as well unloading unit. Perform wells blow downs, Casing bleed down& well test on the remote wellhead automation platform, conventional platform.

Key Accountabilities (4)

  • Perform personnel & material lifting statically and dynamically (between platform-to-platform or boat-to-platforms)
  • Perform monthly/ 6 -Month inspection on Safety Equipment, Fire Extinguisher and safety audit on wellhead platform.
  • Being an escort for special project team visiting wellhead platform.
  • Perform emergency response on wellhead platform in such situation of Loss of Containment of hydrocarbon fluid, e.g. gas release, oil& condensate spill and Fire incident

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • Technical Diploma in related field
  • 2-4 years' experience as multi-skills operator and maintenance in oil and gas industry or equivalent
  • At least 2 years experience working in any fields in G1 area
  • Fair command of both spoken and written English
  • Moderate physical effort of standing, walking, and climbing for 50% of work time
  • Certificate(s) and document(s) to be ready since commencement date

                - Valid Certificate of Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training or Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) or Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training (TFOET) or Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET).
