Job Purpose
Operator, Radio assists in organizing and coordinating sea/ air transport to and from the field area. The jobholder operates the radio to communicate and coordinate with the vessels and helicopters during their arrival, departure and movement in the field area. In addition, he is a focal point with external concerned stations in emergency.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate radio equipment to communicate with ships, aircraft, marine crews, offshore oil rigs, and other remote operations.
- Coordinate with Songkhla Traffic for flight plan and scheduling (daily). Report current weather and general situation in the field area to Songkhla Traffic for aircraft operations.
- Act as Radio Operator. Perform flight monitoring (flight watch) and record navigation log until helicopter lands on platform and returns to Songkhla Helibase.
- Manage helicopter/ boat booking in iLogistics Management System for crew change and mission.
- Coordinate all concerned parties such as Rigs, Offshore Fields, and FSO during flight operations.
- Assist in arranging daily vessel programs (cargo handling and equipment delivery) in the field area.
- Report emergency to concerned stations according to Emergency Response Plan.
- Plan personnel on board (POB) on the living quarter platform and arranging accommodations including bedding plan.
- Arrange daily vessel utilization/ program for passenger and material transfer within field area according to work plan from Planner, Offshore.
- Plan and manage vessel and helicopter refuelling in coordination with Songkhla Traffic.
- Keep track of fuel consumption of all marine fleet under control by field i.e. crew boats, utility vessels.
- Monitor for intrusion vessel by visual and Early Warning Radar System (EWRS).
- Comply with and promote the Company’s SSHE policy, rules and regulations for all works under responsibility.
- Act emergency response roles as being assigned in Site’s Emergency Response Plan.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Professional Knowledge & Experience:
- Diploma Certificate in Aeronautical Radio or related fields
- At least 3 years full time experience as a radio operator or equivalent position
- At least 3 years-experience in aviation and marine activities
- Ability to use radio equipment and communicate to remote stations via radio
- Hold valid GMDSS Certificate
- Good listening and speaking English
- Computer-literate
- Basic knowledge of marine operation and aviation operation
