Job Purpose
Operator, Deck (E2FSO) maintains and operates offloading/ loading of the mechanical equipment on deck of Floating Storage Offloading Unit (E2FSO2). The job holder is responsible for the smooth operations and condition of all deck machineries, valves, pumps, on deck IG system, ventilator. The job holder organizes preventive maintenance of the deck machineries according to the Barge Master and Chief Officer instructions. The job holder also operates PLEM valves as instructed by Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation (E2FSO).
Key Accountabilities (1)
- Regularly check and log the condition of the cargo pumps (i.e. temperature, pressure, leakage, abnormal sound, etc.) and report all necessary data to Officer, Cargo Control Room for recording.
- Carry out maintenance work for all deck machineries.
- Perform routine check of inert gas system on the deck, the fire and gas system, the firefighting system, the lifeboats, and all safety and all lifesaving equipment to ensure that they are available, well maintained, certified, and serviceable. Also, ensure safe tank atmospheres at all time.
- Arrange condensate receiving, storage and offloading. Check the metering units during performing tank cleaning operations.
Key Accountabilities (2)
- Maintain safety checklist as per instruction. Assist in checking the morning ullage of cargo tanks and ballast tanks.
- Act as the safety representative on the export tanker after the mooring master disembark.
- Act as a fireman in helicopter operations.
- Assist to operate PLEM valves as instructed by Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation (E2FSO).
- Carry out monthly spare part inventory check including chemical store, deck store, oil spill equipment and make the requisition to Chief Enigneer (E2FSO) for replenishment.
- Coach Operator, Deck / new Operator, Deck and provide supervision and guidance during offloading operation, routine, and non-routine operation.
- Comply with and promote the Company’s SSHE policy, rules and regulations to all work under responsibility.
Key Accountabilities (3)
Emergency Response Task:
- Act as coxswain on the lifeboat for ship’s abandon.
- Act as a fireman, spill clean-up team member and lifeboat evacuation team member for emergency response contributing to the achievement of E2FSO’s objective.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- STCW 2010 Second Engineer Officer certificate with IMO endorsement for dangerous goods
- Attended all compulsory courses required by STCW 2010 convention
- Technical Diploma in Mechanical or related field plus 5-year formal mechanical training
- 7 years’ experience as merchant marine technician in oil and gas tanker
- Fair command of both spoken and written English
