Operator, Crane
Job Purpose
Operator, Crane operates crane on platform and remote platforms. The jobholder is responsible for the safety of personnel, material and goods delivered to and from the platforms during crane operations.
Key Accountabilities (1)

Operate crane to upload and offload all types of material and equipment in accordance with specified lifting procedures and SSHE rules and regulations. Follow up the movements of material and equipment in the different locations to ensure that they are placed at the right destinations.

Transport personnel by basket from main platforms to boats and vice versa, considering the safety of all personnel.

Carry out general crane inspection prior to an operation including checking condition of wire ropes, brake system, bolts, pins and similar items, tagging all lifting equipment with colour code, and reporting any potential defects or malfunction to Lead Operator, Crane.

Assist maintenance and safety crews when they carry out works on crane.

Communicate with Master of vessel and understand weather condition during lifting operations.

Comply with and promote the Company’s SSHE policy, rules and regulations to all work under responsibility.
Key Accountabilities (3)

For Operator, Crane who perform HLO:
-
Assist helicopter operations during landing and take-off, ensure that all required fire/ crash equipment is in place prior to the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the helicopter in coordination with Radio Operator.

Assist in helicopter refuelling according to field operating procedures by testing for contamination prior to refuelling and keep records of fuel quantity in fuel bulk tanks and report to Lead Operator, Crane when refilling of tanks is required. Maintain proper records of dispatched and received fuel volume.

Act emergency response roles as being assigned in Site’s Emergency Response Plan.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
-
Secondary Education or Diploma Certificate plus 3 to 6 months of special training course on crane operations

Fair command of both spoken and written English
-
Crane driver certificate is mandatory (For Operator, Crane/HLO, HLO certificate is mandatory)
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in crane operations
