Engine Room Helper (FSO)
Job Purpose
Engine Room Helper (FSO) facilitates in engine room activities on the Floating Storage Offloading Unit 2 (FSO2) including assisting in machinery maintenance, watchkeeping duty and complete log sheets on machinery performance and assists deck activities as requested. The jobholder is also responsible for engine room cleanliness as well as workshop and spare part room tidiness at all time.
Key Accountabilities
• Work in coordination with Senior Technician, Mechanical/Electrical and Instrument for machinery maintenance.
• Watchkeeping duty 12 hours/ day to monitor machinery performance and complete log sheet.
• Assist Deck team on night patrolling for FSO2 safety and security and IG pressure tanks bleed off.
• Assist Deck team on lifting operation during the night.
• Keep engine room, workshop and spare part room cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
• Assist in fuel oil bunkering and transferring to supply boat.
• Comply with and promote the Company’s SSHE policy, rules and regulations to all work under responsibility.
Emergency Response Tasks:
• Be a member of firefighting team, oil spill clean-up team and lifeboat evacuation team.
• Be a rescue team member when perform rescue in confine space in engine room area. contributing to the achievement of Department’s objective.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
• Possess STCW 2010 Certificate of Proficiency Rating Forming part of Engine Watch Hold Certificate of Endorsement “valid for service in Oil Tankers is preferable”
• Attended all compulsory courses needed by STCW 2010 convention
• Minimum 1 years’ experience as Engine Rating on Marine vessels
• Experience on oil tanker or offshore is an advantage
• Technical Vocation or equivalent Certificate
• Fair knowledge of both spoken and written English
