Supervisor, Well Operations

Job Purpose
Supervisor, Well Operations (Rig-Related/Light Workover) is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing all rig-related operations (i.e. well completion, workover, hydraulic fracturing) and light workover activities (artificial lift, thru-tubing well clean-out), and ensuring that technical and economic justifications are always applied. The jobholder supports field operations, as and when required; and ensures that the operations under his/her responsibility are carried out in accordance with PTTEP’s regulations, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct, supervise and coordinate the work to ensure that all assigned Rig-Related/Light Workover operations are managed and conducted safely/efficiently procedures in accordance with Company’s SSHE policy and industrial standards.
- Lead daily operations, render day-to-day detailed work instructions to the on-site working teams, and daily report to related persons.
- Verify that all Rig-Related/Light Workover equipment/tools are in good condition, function/pressure tested and certified following Company’s standards and/or specific instructions.
- Ensure all pressures of interest are verified and recorded for reference.
- Ensure readiness of necessary well control equipment on-site during Rig-Related/Light Workover operations.
- Compile and summarize Rig-Related/Light Workover operations; and report any operation failures/problems to Superintendent, Onshore Well Operations for further decision-making for solutions.
- Enhance the implementation, enforcement, development, and updating of Rig-Related/Light Workover safety and operating procedures.
- Provide necessary inputs/feedbacks for improvements on the Rig-Related/Light Workover operations and sharing knowledge, lesson learns, and best practices via KM channels.
- Coordinate with concerned parties both internal and external to carry out the jobs as per proposals and programs successfully.
- Take overall responsibility for the condition of all equipment/tools used in operations under limitation, and ensure that equipment is properly rigged up and tested under pressure control principles and procedure.
- Ensure areas of work and facilities are maintained in a safe condition.
Key Accountabilities (Cont.)
- Supervise and monitor operations in a safe manner to minimize Operating Expenditure (OPEX) and other production constraints.
- Plan, develop and recommend strategies, work plan for new technology, procedures and methodology to improve technical/cost performance and manpower.
- Plan, control, and ensure the optimization of technical integrity and maintenance of all asset wells and ensure that SSHE matters are in line with PTTEP SSHE MS.
- Conduct safety meeting, lead onsite JHA (Job Hazard Analysis), toolbox meetings, emergency exercises and SSHE/Operations audits.
- Manage all available resources and workload under his accountabilities appropriately to ensure that objectives are achieved and staff is fully utilized.
- Update/prepare procedures for all new equipment/tools introduced into Rig-Related/Light Workover operations and propose changes to existing procedures when needs are identified.
- Coordinate with contractors and relevant concerned departments within Company to ensure that all Rig-Related/Light Workover materials and explosives are properly controlled and managed to meet the work requirements.
- Ensure good inventory of company’s equipment/tools and spare parts at work sites or workshop for correct stock realization.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and transportation of materials to avoid risks of premature equipment damage.
- Promote reporting of any incident and motivate all personnel to give thorough details for clear understanding and more efficient prevention of reoccurrence.
- Promote the implementation of the company’s SSHE policy, regulations, best practices, and industry standards in all works under the responsibility.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or significant relevant work experience in well completion, workover operations and artificial lifts
- Minimum 5-year work experience primarily in workover/artificial lifts operations.
- Well Control certificate for well intervention
- Knowledge of well integrity, wellhead maintenance, slickline, electric line and other related well interventions and SSHE
