Job Purpose

Senior Technician, Mechanical assists Supervisor to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical equipment such as rotating and stationery machineries as instructed and assigned by his/her supervisor. The jobholder troubleshoots breakdowns, executes repairs and reports major problems to Supervisor. In addition, he maintains good housekeeping at work site and ensures tools and equipment are kept in good working order.

Key Accountabilities (1)

  • Carry out preventive maintenance or repair adhering to the plant safety procedure and in accordance with the maintenance job cards and performance standards.
  • Perform QC for M&I work, perform routine check and tests of equipment as per procedures and schedules covering but not limited to mechanical disciplines.
  • Assist M&I Discipline engineers during maintenance activities in the field area.
  • Collaborate and work with other Lead Technicians including electrical, instrumentation, automation, inspection within sections; extended to other departments when required.
  • Support PSSR and commissioning or relevant handover activities.

Key Accountabilities (2)

  • Prepare the relevant material, consumables and/ or special tools if required.
  • Report to Supervisor for any abnormal events, abnormal condition, or malfunction and at the completion of the job.
  • Be responsible for the repair/ maintenance of mechanical testing, measuring devices, tools, and safety equipment in the workshop.
  • Ensure the update of files for any preventive maintenance or modification work carried out.
  • Prepare documentation regarding major repairs/ overhauls of main equipment to be sent to onshore for repairs.
  • Provide feedback, inputs, and coordinate with Maintenance Disciplines to improve maintenance management system
  • Observe, handle, and mitigate some contingent or temporary work adhering to safety when anomaly was found, or temporary change is required.

Key Accountabilities (3)

  • Coordinate with Material Yard for delivery of spare part including issuing requisition and following up receipt.
  • Organize and plan with Planner and across peer M&I disciplines to optimize resources and downtime
  • Lead and support technicians for troubleshoot the complex problems.
  • Performed coaching and share knowledge to peers, different disciplines including junior technicians.
  • Comply with and adhere to SSHE rules and regulations for all relevant works under responsibility.
  • Act emergency response roles as being assigned in Site’s Emergency Response Plan.

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • Technical Diploma in Mechanical or related fields
  • 9 years’ experience in similar position e.g. Skilled Mechanical Technician, preferably in Rotating Equipment e.g. Reciprocating Compressor, Gas Engines, Multistage Pumps
  • Fair knowledge of written and spoken English
