Job Purpose
To drive PTTEP’s technology commercialization and new business development by screening innovations from internal and external development that have the potential to be a new venture and then managing a new venture’s journey to transform qualified innovations into new/diversified businesses beyond petroleum exploration and production.
Key Accountabilities
- Take roles in a combination of venture builder, analyst, technologist, product owner, and intrapreneur
- Collaborate with technology management team, corporate venture capital team, and other relevant functions to stay tuned for innovations that fit PTTEP’s deployment or new business opportunities
- Support technology development as a stage-gate committee, pitching judge, and/or business mentor for innovation projects to provide opinions and support from market/commercial perspectives
- Evaluate technology’s commerciality through validation of problem statement, problem-solution fit, market potential, techno-economics, product-market fit, product readiness, and other elements if required
- Formulate commercial strategies such as designing minimum testable business architecture, defining key milestones, and conducting a feasibility study for external commercialization
- Navigate project journey in accelerating and scaling up a potential new venture, encompassing market discovery, market validation, customer trial, and go-to-market (GTM) development
- Prepare the launch of new ventures, which includes but is not limited to constructing a data room, conducting valuation, engaging potential investors, and pursuing other required aspects until launch
- Manage projects and assignments relevant to the exploration and validation of new business opportunities
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Energy, or relevant fields
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Technopreneurship, Innovation, or relevant fields
- 8+ years of experience in any related fields; Business Development, Commercial Partnership, Go-to-Market, Venture Building, or Business Scale-up
- Experience in technology commercialization or new business venturing is an advantage
- Familiarity in start-up, incubator, accelerator, or venture builder is a plus
- Good understanding of design thinking, problem-solution fit, product-market fit, and business model design
- Good analytical and financial modelling skills (evidenced by feasibility analysis or business valuation)
- Proven ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with internal and external parties
- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and computer literacy skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Good project management skills
