Superintendent, Well Operations
Job Purpose
Superintendent, Well Operations (Non-Routine & Asset Retirement) is responsible for planning, supervising and controlling non-routine and asset retirement operations e.g. workover, well P&A and associated well services (Pumping, Cementing, wireline, ballistic service (TBG punch, TBG cut,Perforate, etc). The jobholder ensures that technical and economic justifications are applied to all areas of activities and to fulfil department’s business objectives. He/ she also supports field operations as necessary and ensures that the operations are carried out according to Company’s rules and regulations, guidelines, instructions and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan, develop and recommend strategies, work plan for new technology, procedures and methodology to improve technical/ cost performance and manpower
- Monitor, supervise and control all areas of well activities to ensure that technical and operational aspects of work are carried out efficiently and safely according to department’s work program, budget and schedule
- Plan, control and ensure the optimization of technical integrity and maintenance of all assets’ wells in compliance with Company’s SSHE Management System
- Prepare well operation report, well work instruction, cost estimation and scheduling
- Update/ prepare procedures for all new equipment introduced into well operations and propose changes to existing procedures as and when needed
- Provide timely and accurate information to well management on operational status and any deviations from plans, programs, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Ensure that equipment is properly rigged up and tested under pressure control principles and procedures, and within designed specifications and equipment limitations
- Coordinate, manage and control field operations to ensure that all activities are carried out in safe and efficient manner
- Coordinate the overlap with concerned parties to carry out the tasks as proposed
- Lead daily operations and render day-to-day detailed work instructions to the working teams on-site
- Provide technical support/advice to Engineer and involved party regarding equipment, tools, operational limitation, operational concerns, etc.
- Manage all available resources and workforce appropriately to ensure that objectives are achieved, and staff are fully utilized
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Process/ Petroleum/ Mechanical or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Offshore well servicing operations with strong background in wireline, electric line, completion, coiled tubing, workover and well P&A
- Well control certificate for drilling operations or well intervention is required
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Appropriate managerial skills and supervisory experience
