Senior Geophysicist

Job Purpose

Senior Geophysicist calibrates and integrates seismic with all technical data, and conduct detailed seismic interpretation and mapping of reservoirs in assigned areas, contributing to best well locations. He/ She participates with Development team in preparing well proposal, multi-target well designs, drilling follow-up, and post well evaluation. He/ She also conducts QC for the study and propose the seismic interpretation improvement methods. He/ She also gives advice, QA/QC, and mentoring junior staff in all related geophysical work for PTTEP.

Key Accountabilities

To be the lead geophysicist in a team

• Identify, assess and assure quality all available data and recommend further processing and acquisition as appropriate
• Undertake trial, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies of acquisition and processing projects
• Engage in seismic acquisition and processing design
• Take on and manage procurement of acquisition and processing services
• Ensure data quality of acquisition and processing projects
• Establish standard documents/procedures on seismic acquisition and processing
• Communicate and sell ideas to management
• Contribute to knowledge management and best practices and mentoring junior

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geosciences
• 10+ years of experience in E&P Business related 
• Have very good understanding in GOT petroleum system and familiar with well factory concept and process
• Highly require experience in well planning/targeting in GOT
• 3+ years of experience
• Strong background on subsurface software (Petrel and DSG etc.) and systems
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of both written and spoken English
