Engineer, Well Operations Support (Asset Retirement & Special Projects)

Job Purpose

The Engineer, Well Operations (Well Service&Performance engineer), is responsible for maintaining and continuously enhancing well performance. This role involves analysis of operation data and driven performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, the engineer act as a Focal point engineer for assigned projects e.g. Asset transitions, Artificial lift operation, Asset retirement and Non routine operation. Responsible for well planning, detailed engineering/work program, procurement and contract management. 

Key Accountabilities

Well Performance

  • Perform well operational performance analysis, reports the insights, deficiencies, gaps, or opportunities for improvement. Work with internal and external business units to deliver the solution.
  • Drive the implementation of performance improvement/cost saving initiatives across assigned projects (Fit for purpose technology and Digital initiatives)—from concept through to successful execution.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with operational best practices.
  • Support junior staff’s capability development program and knowledge management

Well Service focal point

  • Coordinate with asset focal point, well operation team and business partner to deliver well objective with safe and efficient operation
  • Plan and develop detailed engineering, operational programs, procedures, and schedules that are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with SSHE requirements.
  • Provide technical and operational support to resolve issues and prevent schedule delays.
  • Contract holder responsible for full cycle from procurement strategy, call for tender, contract management till close out.
  • Project management covering overall planning, stakeholder management, budgeting, inventory and logistics management

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) or equivalent
  • More than 8 years’ experience in drilling or well completion&workover or P&A with at least 5 years of field operations experience
  • Having broad knowledge in related disciplines such as subsurface, reservoir, drilling, well engineering, facility, production and able to effectively communicate and work in cross-functional environment
  • Project and Contract management skills
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
