Job Purpose

Engineer, SSHE acts as Team members of  SSHE advisor to Division Senior Vice President, while undertaking responsibility for certain key work areas. He/She is responsible for providing advice, assist and support to SVP & Line Management, Operational and technical staff and contractors SSHE issues such as SSHE MS requirements, SSHE regulations, Contractor SSHE Management, MOCs, etc.

 

Capability Development & New Technology Leading:

The job holder is expected to guide, coach and advise Drilling and Wells Team members and other technical staff in SSHE matters including but not limited to methodology, techniques, practices and concepts; and ensure knowledge transfer in organization. He/She also leads and encourages the innovative ideas/ studies and the use of the art of technology to improve existing SSHE performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Functional report to Division SSHE on division / department / Asset’s SSHE activities and other SSHE-related issues.
  • Implement and ensure effectiveness of division / department SSHE plan, KPIs and other activities in compliance with Corp. SSHE Strategic plan.  
  • Provide advice and support on SSHE issues such as SSHE MS requirements, SSHE regulations, MOCs, etc. to ensure that efficient and effective SSHE management is implemented and in compliance with PTTEP SSHE.
  • Manage SSHE performance of contractors by ensuring compliance with Corporate SSHE Contractor Management Standard requirements.
  • Arrange regular SSHE meetings with contractors to ensure SSHE compliance with contract requirements.
  • Communicate SSHE issues and promote SSHE campaigns based on lessons learned to prevent incident recurrence.
  • Participate in incident investigations. Review and give feedback on corrective actions proposed from site SSHE.
  • Track and analyze division / department and contractors’ SSHE performance (including occupational health, environmental and process safety), statistics and trends for further improvement.
  • Provide advice to field/site operations including contractor SSHE’s performance for further improvement.
  • Ensure line management develop, use and benefit from Major Accident Event Prevention Tool

Additional Accountabilities

  • Develop Division SSHE strategic plan in compliance with PTTEP SSHE strategic direction.
  • Be responsible for effective implementation of Division SSHE strategic plan including initiatives / campaigns.
  • Formulate, communicate, cascade and monitor SSHE plan and SSHE KPIs to SSHE Division..
  • Be a focal point for all SSHE activities within Division, give recommendation, advice and ensure alignment with PTTEP SSHE strategy.
  • Perform SSHE compliance check within Division through internal SSHE audits and verification.
  • Facilitate and participate in incident investigations for high severity incidents. Review and give feedback on corrective actions proposed from site SSHE.

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • At least 10 years of working experience in Safety, Security, Health and Environmental (SSHE) with intensive knowledge.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in Drilling and Wells operations.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of working experience to manage section or department.
  • NEBOSH certificate IGC or equivalent (advantage)
  • Minimum bachelor degree in engineering or Safety.
  • Able to coach Site SSHE supervisors under responsibility.
  • Capable of teamwork, cooperation and communication.
  • Self-motivation to complete an assignment within set time and achieve good quality of work.
  • Able to receive an urgent call from site to support/advise during non-working hours.
  • Speak fluent in English and very good in writing skill.
