Engineer, Marine Support
Job Purpose:
Engineer, Marine (Operation Support) is responsible for planning and handling marine vessel chartering process and marine operations to support offshore activities according to operational requirement with on-time delivery, fitness for service and cost effectiveness, managing marine contracts, managing and controlling budget for vessel chartering and marine operations support service activities as well as providing marine technical advice to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Engineer, Marine (Operation Support) shall manage offshore marine vessel assurance program to ensure reliability and SSHE performance of chartered vessel to meet company’s requirements and industrial best practice.
Key Accountabilities:
• Plan, lead, supervise and coordinate to propose business contract strategy and prepare calls for tender packages for vessels chartering and participate in technical and commercial bid evaluation in compliance with procurement process.
• Manage vessel and Marine support service contract, monitor, control and coordinate to ensure vessel’s operation/Marine service and SSHE performance meet company requirements.
• Contribute to development and improvement of marine related standards/ procedures/ work process and ensure implementation and compliance.
• Contribute to study, analyse and propose the marine fleet optimization model and management system to achieve better cost effectiveness, safe and efficient operation.
• Develop, improve and implement vessel assurance program (i.e., vessel inspection, quarterly audit) to assure vessel reliability and safe operation and in compliance with company rules, international regulations and industrial best practice.
• Monitor and control fuel consumption (MGO) of marine vessels to ensure cost efficiency of fuel consumption.
• Provide marine expertise in supporting of all marine operation / related matters as required by offshore operating asset/projects (i.e., incident investigation, mooring pattern design and analysis, weather forecast, Typhoon brief, Marine advisor for rig/barge move, tanker mooring master, risk assessment/HAZID, new development project and Marine navigation chart)
• Provide technical advice, solution in any problems of routine work regarding marine operation and logistics activities.
• Act as TADM of marine equipment to ensure they are available, well maintained and ready for service.
• Prepare, manage and control budgets for all marine activities according to asset work program.
• Being appointed as Emergency Team management member and typhoon advisor to provide advice and guidance to respond emergency and typhoon evacuation.
• Study and seek any new technology, digitalization system for sake of marine fleet improvement leading to Cost effectiveness, efficient operations, SD and SSHE.
• Report key activities and results to line manager
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Certificate of Master Mariner Class 1 or Certificate of Chief Engineer Class 1 is preferred
- Good knowledge of offshore marine operation and logistics business
- Good Knowledge of offshore marine warranty surveying, Classification Society surveys and/or vessel audits
- Minimum 5 years experience in Offshore Oil & Gas industry and offshore marine operations
- Good interpersonal skills and leadership skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
