Job Purpose
Engineer, Drilling is responsible for providing well design, cost estimation, and drilling program in timely manner for the planned schedule, with proper engineering and operational considerations/recommendations. The jobholder also ensures works operations are complied with PTTEP SSHE MS, meet well objectives, and also seeks for continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Liaise with subsurface team on well objectives and requirement for basic design
- Establish conceptual well design options and selection of best technical and economical design
- Perform engineering calculation / simulation for well design and well construction process, including time and cost estimation (AFE)
- Ensure availability of equipment, services, and material required for entire well construction process.
- Generate detailed drilling program
- Monitor and analyse drilling performance including technical, operational, and financial aspects
- Capture lesson learnt and solution / mitigation, and incorporate into subsequent program
- Conduct specific drilling engineering study when required
- Support Supervisor, Drilling Operations on the rig site during critical operations.
- Perform contract management and procure services in all the contractual phase.
- Seek for performance improvement and cost reduction opportunities with safety/environmental standards and regulatory compliance.
- Promote the implementation of PTTEP’s SSHE policy, regulations, and industrial standards in all works under responsibility.
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 2-year experience in drilling operation
- Minimum 2-year experience in drilling engineering, well design, and well simulation
- Good command of both written and spoken English
