Engineer, Construction Support

Job Purpose

Engineer, Project is responsible for planning and execution of wellhead platform construction projects during the detail design, procurement and execution phases (construction, installation, hook-up/ commissioning and handover) in offshore Assets.  The job holder also interfaces, coordinates and manages stakeholders to ensure that the projects meet agreed targets and deliverables in timely manner with safety, quality and within the approved budget.

The Offshore Transportation and Installation Engineer plays a pivotal role in the successful planning, execution, and management of transportation logistics and construction activities related to offshore oil and gas platform installation projects. This position is instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel to offshore sites while overseeing construction operations to meet project objectives.

Key Accountabilities

• Define project plans, work programs and budgets, and project development strategies in compliance with the Company’s policy and objectives.
• Monitor and manage stakeholders to ensure that the projects’ performance in terms of technical quality, work progress, and cost control are aligned with the defined strategies and approved plans.
• Identify and troubleshoot potential and actual problems and also prevent and manage risks.
• Keep abreast of developments in the area of project management. Liaise with relevant departments to ensure the smooth operations within due time.
• Promote the implementation and adherence to the Company’s SSHE rules and regulations.
• Coordinate with drafting, engineering, procurement and legal teams in preparing the material specification & procurement process, drawing package, bid package, evaluation process and contract document.
• Provide technical advice/ solution upon request during the construction and commissioning phases.
• Ensure the proper administration and follow-up of the project’s documentations e.g. Letters, Work Instructions, Technical Query (TQ), engineering documents, drawings, etc. Generate corrective actions when required.

HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment):

• Champion safety culture by enforcing HSE policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to minimize potential hazards during transportation and construction activities.

Project Coordination and Documentation:

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including reports, technical specifications, and project plans.
• Provide regular progress updates and reports to the project manager on transportation, construction activities, and any potential issues or deviations from the plan.

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (15+ years) in offshore transportation and installation operations within the oil and gas industry.
• Sound knowledge of offshore installation methods, marine operations, and transportation logistics. Having knowledge in naval architecture and marine engineering is a plus.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing offshore installations.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and deliver results within deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• HSE certifications or training related to offshore operations and construction safety
