Coordinator, Power and Renewables Support

Job Purpose

  • Assist to review business/ project acquisition opportunities in power & renewables – including to perform relevant technical and commercial study – with supports from internal/ external experts. The jobholder needs to participate in detailed feasibility study and assist team members to prepare business proposal. The jobholder will also support in developing suitable negotiation strategies and prepare for relevant contract negotiations for the utmost benefit to the company. Eventually, the jobholder also needs to execute the project hand-over activities as planned, and coordinate with internal and external bodies for the flawless execution of the project. He/ She will need to conduct a study as assigned – with supports from internal/ external experts for business related to power & renewables aspect.
  • Perform as department representative and/or PTTEP representative to monitor and support the operation in power & renewables projects i.e., Operating offshore wind farm in the UK, Lan Sang Arun (captive solar project), etc. The jobholder needs to monitor project’s performance, to review technical and commercial aspects, and to support the project’s operation including reviewing operational report, Work Program & Budget, contract management, etc.

Key Accountabilities

Business Development
• Recommend and/or review business/ project acquisition opportunities and perform analysis for investment decision, including, but not limited to, analysis on technical and commercial aspects, risk & mitigation analysis, valuation, financing structure/ option analysis, value proposition, etc.
• Coordinate with relevant parties, both internal & external experts, to acquire and consolidate all advice, recommendation and analysis in support of decision making for investment.
• Engage with key investor, advisors and stakeholders as required.
• Support the negotiation and relevant contract negotiation e.g., Sale Purchase Agreement, Shareholder Agreement, Joint Venture Agreement, relevant service contracts with external experts.
• Support any transaction activities, including deal completion & hand-over to asset management as required.
• Support and recommend investment direction in power & renewables business. 
• Conduct a study as assigned – with supports from internal/ external experts for business related to power & renewables aspect.
Asset Management
• Monitor and analyze asset performance by working with joint venture partner, operator & contractor.
• Coordinate and participate in the technical, commercial, and financial meetings of developing/ operating projects to obtain all necessary all information for further study and analysis, as well as to follow up the project’s achievement and improvement.
• Consolidate advice and recommendation via coordination with multi-disciplinary team e.g., engineer, accountant, commercial expert, lawyer, etc.
• Promote and maintain constructive relationship/ network both inside and outside.
• Assist to formulate a strategy for short & long-term asset management plan.
• Support for contract negotiation as necessary.
• Review and/or prepare annual work program and budget.
• Engage, establish, maintain, and strengthen business network/ relationship with both internal and external investor, advisor and stakeholder as required.

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economic, Engineering or other related fields
  • Experience in renewable business i.e., solar and wind is preferrable
  • Excellent command in both written and spoken English
  • Broad knowledge of economic evaluation/ analysis, negotiations, and contract administration
  • Ability to think strategically and possess commercial mind-set
  • Eager to learn and actively perform multiple assigned tasks within limited timeframe
  • Integrated knowledge across various disciplines in order to align future business needs, optimize corporate benefits and avoid mitigate corporate risks
  • Knowledgeable, understanding and experience in Energy Markets and Policy
