Job Purpose

Accountant, Accounting Policy is responsible for developing and updating global accounting policies, procedures and guidelines in accordance with accounting standards and regulations, and in line with industry’s best practices and PTT accounting policy. The jobholder is to perform a role of a second line of defense for Finance and Accounting Functional Group (FNA), provides internal consulting on accounting issues to users and provides concerns on accounting implication in M&A Due Diligence to managements. The jobholder also organizes finance and accounting academy for staff competency development, and coordinates with related parties to arrange Joint Venture Audit including follows up outstanding issues

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and update accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines for PTTEP Group and provide advice on accounting issues
  • Monitor and study accounting standards and regulations as well as determine the accounting implications in case of implanting new accounting standards and regulations; and communicate potential impacts to concerned parties
  • Initiate alternative accounting practices, conduct feasibility study, and develop projects
  • Propose changes in business processes regarding to changes in accounting standards and regulations
  • Provide accounting guidance on accounting issues and engage in analyzing diverse, unclear, and challenging areas of accounting related to non-routine and/or significant transactions
  • Participate in Due Diligence / Bidding Team to review accounting part in agreement
  • Provide accounting recommendation and support Assets in reviewing accounting part in agreement

Key Accountabilities (Continued)

  • Review and analyze Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) to support financial reporting
  • Execute compliance check to ensure that accounting practices of corporate and assets are aligned with accounting standards, procedures, guidelines and management system
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate with Joint Venture Audit Teams to manage audit fieldwork
  • Coordinate with business process owners to obtain necessary data and materials to respond JV audit team
  • Follow up and resolve outstanding Joint Venture audit issues
  • Plan, develop, and organize finance and accounting academy and KM activities to build up staff competency

  • Accounting policy, procedure, and guideline for PTTEP and its subsidiaries
  • Advices / recommendation on accounting issues for both routine and non-routine activities, including accounting part in agreement
  • Adjustments on accounting practices regarding changes in accounting standards and regulations

  • High competency of finance and accounting staff

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experiences in accounting standards (IFRS/TFRS and Oil and Gas Accounting) and M&A Due Diligence
  • At least 3-years’ experience in E&P business background
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • C.P.A. certification is preferred
