1. KEY OBJECTIVES
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible:
- To be the focal point of Projects Management for the green field and brownfield assets throughout the Malaysian operations, which includes but not limited to project engineering, budget, cost management, procurement, contract management, planning, interfacing management, regulatory and compliance and overall project management and assurance accordance to COMPANY and Petronas requirement and guideline.
- Monitor and control project to be within the schedule, quality, budget and SSHE requirement.
- Prudent observance of PTTEP’s Code of Ethics at all times when interfacing with stakeholders, business partners and Contractors.
- Ensuring that implementation of all project planning and execution within approved WP & B (Work Program and Budget) plans
- Ensuring implementation of project planning and execution in accordance to PTTEP and Petronas governance and assurance processes.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for overall projects execution including in the areas of Green Field Development Plan (FDP), Filed Improvement Plan (FIP) & major brownfield modification projects, strategy and plans, MPM & Partner interface, Implementation Project Management/Assurance processes, change procedures, front end engineering, detailed engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning through close out of oil and gas offshore facilities
- Manage, control and monitor project budget and project execution planning & Maintain weekly/monthly progress reports as per PTTEP & PETRONAS
- Review contract changes & change orders and prepare change order proposal with procurement
- Provide inputs into the WP&B (Work Program & Budget) of your specific discipline work program forecast and corresponding budget estimates
- Assist the Project Manager that he delegates accordingly
- Review of vendor’s & contractor’s priced submittals corresponding to work order requests or RFQs, i.e. - Work Order Proposals, Quotation
- Prepare periodic project highlights including progress of activities, cost, HSE, issues
- Analyze current project schedule & evaluate the risk of achieving targets. Come up with corresponding mitigating plans
- Custodianship of contracts that may be assigned and prudent monitoring & control of its ACV utilization
- Post award contract management for project/packages assigned
- Ensure Management of Change (MOC) that may be assigned is engineered & implemented, while following all procedures
- Coordinate with engineering team to provide the required technical services to both green & brown field projects
- Liaise with offshore& onshore management and support groups, ensuring good communication levels are maintained
- Conversant with all relevant safety codes and operating procedures ensuring these are followed and improved to ensure that safety is maintained
- In conjunction with all support groups, assist in planning & coordinating all site activities including fabrication, installation, hook-up & commissioning
- Work with the operations group to coordinate activities between Project Team, contractors & receive operations and maintenance (O&M) organization to ensure an efficient hand-over of the facility which includes documentation (facility drawings, installation plans, commissioning procedures)
- Interface management between project stakeholders to ensure tracking & closing all interfacing action
- Coordinating pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design Engineering Work, Budget and AFE management, Contract and ACV management, Contractor and vendor management, Coordinating Risk Assessment and to come out with project close out report
3. KEY AUTHORITIES
- As Senior Project Engineer, K.L. Office-based, free to act within the authorities granted by Project Manager and Head of Engineering and Construction Department.
- Ensure all activities comply with all PTTEP, PETRONAS, and Government statutory requirements and regulations.

- Reports directly to the Project Manager and Head of Engineering and Construction, keeping him/her informed of overall development planning activities.
- Coordinate with Asset and all other disciplines and other department on team-oriented projects.
- Liaise with JVP and PETRONAS as appropriate.
- Good relations must be maintained with personnel on all facilities and Kuala Lumpur office.
- Prudent observance of PTTEP’s Code of Ethics at all times when interfacing with vendors/service providers.
6. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 years of working experience in upstream oil & gas project management.
- Experience in Oil & Gas EPCIC project management is needed.
- Computer literate.
- Proactive, quick learner and proven good team player.
- Strong Leadership with good communication skills.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken.
- Must be a team player and capable of communicating technical issues across all other disciplines.
