1. KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Develop the Asset capability in operational failure root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and to safely maximize asset availability and deliverability.
  • Develop the loss reporting and lesson learned procedures to deliver a sustainable documented process.
  • Develop knowledge in Well Operations activity to become the primary asset focal point for well operational integrity.
  • As a key position within the Sabah Operations Team, assist safe delivery of production forecasts by providing operational x-discipline support through pro-actively liaising with onshore discipline operational support positions in other departments as required.
  • Maintain focus on and continually develop working knowledge of Asset Integrity, OSRMS and IOAIA processes, ensuring compliance threats and actions are understood to ensure compliance with Safety Case requirements.
  • Maintain a working level view of OPEX spend, contributing to active cost control of budget code codes within sphere of influence.
  • Support Production Superintendents and Production Supervisors such that production systems are operated safely and efficiently, in accordance with Company and Industry practice established manuals, procedures, guidelines and instructions.
  • To contribute to the correct identification, operation, maintenance and testing of safety critical equipment follow Safety Case/OSRMS parameters.
  • Develop personal and interpersonal behaviours and competencies to enable future deputising for Operations Manager, Senior Superintendent and/or Field Production Superintendent.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To own the asset Unplanned Downtime (UPD) processes.
  • To actively engage the correct stakeholders in identifying and quantifying loss events, proactively identifying sub-optimal operational process to eliminate loss, maximising asset deliverability to the PSC.
  • Identification and prioritisation of necessary corrective or improvement works required for critical equipment, including structural, process and pipeline integrity.
  • To participate as requested in screening all proposed activities for operational impact before implementation and providing suitable and sufficient operational leadership during the workscope design and delivery phases ensuring smooth and safe implementation.
  • Shall participate in and direct Process Safety Management activities to contribute to regulatory compliance during routine operational activities and workscope delivery phases.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (cont)

  • Shall participate in/facilitate SIMOPS and MOPO such that UPD impact is understood and managed.
  • Participate in the asset 90 days integrated planning processes with the objective of reducing NPT and maintaining forecast production.
  • When required to do so, mobilise to site to perform suitable and sufficient investigation of sub-standard conditions, garnering support of other discipline SME knowledge to support the investigation. This will likely be as team leader for unplanned shut-downs and incidents and may require frequent trips offshore in remote locations.
  • Receive direction and improvement/investigative objectives from Operations Manager and Senior Superintendent regarding prioritsed workflow, managing own workload accordingly.

3. KEY AUTHORITIES

  • Through working with Production Engineering Group, understand and influence production plans to maximize operational availability to ensure facilities are available to deliver forecast production.
  • Understand and operate to the key operational management systems such as PTW, installations’ MOS Logs and key safety management systems.
  • In conjunction with the Production and Maintenance Superintendents, ensure UPD is minimised to allow the facility to be maintained as per the CM and PM schedules, prioritizing as appropriate to maintain safety and production performance.
  • Promotion and compliance of Company safety initiatives.
  • Contribute to regulatory and Corporate Compliance with all relevant procedures and guidelines.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of loss events and preparation of subject reports to Management.
  • Identification, screening, proposal and prioritisation of improvement initiatives.
  • Operational review of work-packs (as directed) relating to the facilities, prior to monitoring implementation and monitoring delivery thereafter.

4. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute within sphere of influence to offshore and onshore department involvement in development of annual safety plan.
  • A key stakeholder in Asset Production Operations Variance and Management of Change processes.
  • Develop an intimate working knowledge of PTTEP and Petronas process safety management requirements to maintain SHE system compliance.
  • Ensure Workscopes and diagnostic activities are fully cogniscant of SMS requirements.
  • Personal involvement and active support of quality site risk management processes – operational risk assessments, toolbox talks, JSA, safety meetings.
  • Lead where appropriate and participate as required in all SHE programs such as field safety meetings, emergency drills, SHE training courses, Positive Observation Card (POC) & Unsafe Act Unsafe Condition (UCUA) cards submission and other programs as current. Provide relevant feedback to improve SHE undertakings in the field.
  • For investigation, obtain clear understanding of all incidents, accidents, near-misses and dangerous occurrences for country and corporate reporting, ensuring quality investigation is conducted and lessons learned.
  • Be capable of displaying model Safety behaviours in a dynamic and challenging environment.

6. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification in an appropriate discipline preferably at University level.
  • At least 5 years post qualification relevant offshore and/or onshore oil/gas experience. Must be able to rapidly assimilate, understand and assess complex operational environments and associated SIMOPS risk interactions in a multi-discipline team situation, with an ability to prioritise activities as required to meet business objectives.
  • Have some experience in developing troubleshooting programmes and workscopes to deliver same in a remote operating environment. Be prepared for frequent offshore trips of an unscheduled nature and extensive duration with responsibility to deliver a successful outcome.
  • Autonomous, positive and flexible work ethic with the ability to work several high priority scopes simultaneously in a stressful environment on and offshore remaining in regulatory compliance whilst doing so.
  • Current BOSIET. and AME medical. Proven personal management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to comfortably operate and communicate at an operational level offshore and management level onshore. Proven presentation, numeric and literacy competencies with Proven analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • 5 years site production operations experience with a full trade qualification or suitable higher educational qualification (Diploma or Degree in Engineering)
  • Either have, or be prepared to receive training in Emergency Response Command and Control skill sets, with the ability to utilise this experience in an onshore EMT environment.
